Congratulations on making a first appointment for your
child. We're sure you'll be glad you decided to bring them to a
specialist in dentistry for children.
Our office was designed with children in mind. From
our children's play area within the reception room to the video game arcade,
our beautiful new office radiates a warm and friendly atmosphere that helps
dispel the normal fears your child may have about any new experience such as
going to the dentist for the first time.
In preparation for your child's first visit, here are a
few suggestions. First of all, if your child seems somewhat
apprehensive about the first visit... don't try to guess what will happen
when they come to see us. Dr. Newman prefers to make all the
explanations himself as each visit a child has here should be a learning
experience. The best way for a child to learn is by direct
communication with us.
In order for Dr. Newman to best establish this rapport
with his patients, he will generally ask parents to remain in the reception
area while their child is being examined. Numerous studies, and his 24 years
of experience, have shown that under these conditions children are more apt
to respond in a very positive manner and the entire experience is a much
more pleasant one indeed.
Also, if your child needs to return to the office for
dental treatment, Dr. Newman will probably ask that you make the return
appointment in the morning. This is the time of day when children are
freshest, most alert, and most likely to be accepting of dental treatment.
Of course, this may mean missing some school, but we try never to make an
appointment last longer than an hour or so, and we do have school excuse
slips if you need them.
If you have any concerns about our office in general or
if we can help you in any way before the visit please give us a call or
e-mail us at info@BocaBabyTeeth.com.
We will be happy to help you.
We look forward to
meeting you and your child |
